Falco sparverius cinnamominus (Swainson)

Length 28 – 30 cms

Adult male head with brown dark slate blue, nape f the same color with a reddish brown spot in the center. Upper back and lower back reddish brown with black transverse lines throat, breast, stomach and stockings white to dirty yellow with longitudinal black spots. Adult female like the male, the principal difference is the brick red wing coverts with black transverse bars and the tail lacks the black bar, back with many fine, dark transverse bands.
