Chilean tinamou

Nothoprocta perdicaria perdicaria (Kittlitz)

Length: 29 – 30 cms.

Crown, nape, back of neck back lower back, crissum and coverts brown with the feathers varied form black and white. Cheeks, throat, front of the neck and brast earth brown. Abdomen and flanks light brown. Primaries dark brown with white mottling on the outside barbs. Red brown secondaries with thick dark brown rays on the exterior barbs and dark brown on the interiors. No tail. Brown beak with the lower mandible yellow. Yellow feet.
