Strix rufipes rufipes (King)

Length 38 cms.

Black head. Face with brown facial discs bordered with black. Back grayish black with light yellow transverse fluting. Whitish throat; collar cinnamon around neck. Breast like the back, but with lighter tones and getting lighter near the abdomen where the bars are dirty white. Primaries, flanks under wing and tail. Cinnamon feet with ochre stockings. Dark grey eyes.
