Chimango caracara

Milvago chimango chimango (Vieillot)

Length: 37 – 40 cms.

Upper and lower back with cinnamon brown feathers bordered with white throat. Breast, abdomen and vent light brown. Head dark brown. Wings dark brown with a stripe of white in the middle of the primaries. Tail light brown with a dark brown stripe at the end. Brown eyes. Bone colored beak with a lighter upper beak. Light grey feet in the male and yellower in the female.
